Put my 60 taps in this week. Running some but not great, not yet anyway.

Paul

Good luck, the last year or two have been fickle for non vacuum systems. Hopefully this spring has more traditional weather temps

Weather is looking good for this week. Hope it gets warm enough up here at 1,900+ feet.

I am with you zman. Forecasted highs are right in the funny zone. A degree or two either way will make the difference in lots of sap or no sap.

HI Im in northern Columbia county, next to Ricketts Glen state park. I have been tapped for two weeks. First week ran great last week not so good. Collected today and had all ice. melted down and got 80 gallons. I have a question for you. I am new at this and next year I would like to run a couple main lines into collection tanks. can I add a vaccum to this at a later date. this year I have minny piplines running into barrels, wanted to run them all into one collection site next year.

Someone else is going to have to chime in as I am on gravity only.

Sap is finally running. The forecast is once again for perfect sap weather for 7 days straight. Will we finally be able to make syrup? Only GOD knows!

Well you are certainly rested, little snowmobiling this year and no sap til now...what have you been doing with all your spare time? LOL. Give her heck Paul. How's your sugar %?

Yeh Mike it was a restful winter. Getting busy here now though. Sugar % is low. 1 1/2 - 2 at best but I don't care as long as the sap keeps flowing. The forecast just keeps looking better. I hope they don't dry up, I'm tapped 7 weeks already but most of that time they were froze solid! Right now they are flowing good so I just have to keep my fingers crossed.
