We have 400 tapped out and got a nice run on the 10th and 11th. Finished off 12.5 gal of very light and creamy syrup, some of the best first runs in a few years. Sap is sweet at 2.6 or 32.3 to 1. A small run today about 120gal and should be a run tomorrow. Good luck everyone, weather looks good but cold till Monday.

we are right there with you. we just finished off another 11 gallons last night. all nice medium due to the amount of soft maples on our vacuum system. hopefully we will make some light when we hang buckets next week...maybe even tomorrow to catch mon/tues run. good to hear you are up and running!

looks like you guys are getting a little warmer than we are up on the hill, temp has not gone above 34 for more than a couple hours since the 11th. matt, looks like the lake temp is helping you guys get some early runs how do you like your vac? I was able to get 500 gal of 2.4% on the 11th for the first run only drew off 3 gal of light and ran out of sap

Love my vacuum! This is my second year on vacuum and I think I have the bugs worked out and starting to get good results. Started a few years ago with some gravity tubing and as I increased taps I invested in vacuum to continue to add more taps very happy with the progress so far. Using a surge sp-22 dairy pump pulling over 20" of vacuum. Sugar content for us is hanging around 2.5%. But we do tap soft maples since there are there and I'm not picking up buckets

Boiled again Sat and finished off 16gal, sap is still running at 2.6. Looks like a cold week coming up after Monday. Making some fine light syrup. Sounds like everyone is getting a good start. Starting with a low of 4 deg. today, hope we get a run before it starts back down.

Finished off 240gal that ran overnight and this morning. Sap holding at 2.5. Snowing now and it doesn't look like any action until the end of the week. Woodloader, never had sap that sweet , great, hope it holds. The best I ever had was 28 to 1 many years ago, and it ended up the best year ever.
