View Full Version : K-9 detection of vacuum leaks?
Dogs can sniff out drugs, detect cancer, forewarn seizures, etc. Think we could train 'em to ferret out the hiss of vacuum leaks on difficult-to-access lines? Might save a lot of time and energy ...

That sounds crazy and wonderful all at the same time! You would have to have a pretty smart dog and an even smarter trainer, however, I believe it was my grandfather that told me in the Vietnam war they had k-9s trained to hear the sound of wind whistling off wires, such as booby traps. Don't know if that was just a story or the truth, but, I think if that is true, you should be able to train a dog to hear the hiss of a vacuum leak... I like your way of thinking....
