I am new to tapping. This year I am putting out 10 taps on buckets.
I would like to know what is good sap flow for 24hr.? Based on above freezing during the day, below freezing at night.
Thanks

A gallon per tap average would be good. You will find the range is great. some taps will produce 4+ gallons in 24 hours, some seldom more than a couple of quarts.

It depends greatly on the size of the canopy, the health of the tree, and it's individual genetics. I understand that forest trees give approx half what yard or roadside trees do, because they have less room to grow a good canopy of leaves to perform their magic.
