Where to find welding stock

Where do you get your welding iron (cheaply)?

I like to go to my local metal fab shops and pick throught there scrap piles. They usually will cut me a good deal for random angle, box, sheet metal etc..

find a place that makes steel tubing, angle, sheets etc. if they mess up a weld or bend they cut of around 8 feet around the bad section and throw it out, just go dig through there scrap pile. that they call "bad" is actually pretty good metal. my friends grandpa does this so i can get basically whatever steel i want almost for free

not that i know of, there are a couple metal shops that might have some scrap. but the place my friends grandpa get it is in mass

Scrap metal recycling places. Sometimes they will; let you just pick through what others have brought in.
