this afternoon the snow amounts were 2 - 14 inches by me.... really 2-14inches would be nice to narrow that one down. Just checked it again now they are saying 12+ and potential for 24+ from boston north. Maybe narrow that a little would be nice. I guess they just don't know anymore???!!!!??? now we Must rape the stores of bread and milk because thats what we're suppose to do right???

i could care less about snow now, especially with the season so close, i got my fufill of snowmobiling, but 2 ft would be nice for that! tapping in it...not so much. but i dont believe what they have to say until im plowing it

I expect totals in this area to range from 10-14". No warning for our area at this current time, I suspect the National Weather Service is waiting on another batch of model data before pulling the trigger. 6-10" totals still look pretty good for our immediate area, but this is subject to change

That's what the Weather is saying around here....:o

Woke up this a.m. to 5"-6" of fresh new snow,,,ggrrr.
This is the most snowy winter I remember for a long time.
Weeks and weeks till I tap.
At least I can have my holding tanks super cold surrounded by snow. I have to shovel the snow off the top of them to get at them.

Good luck to all.

Looks like its gonna be a pretty big one here, I don't see any stations or websites predicting less than a foot at this point for us, some go all the way to 2ft.

It would be nice to have something on the ground come tapping time. I also just wouldn't mind a decent storm, we havnt had any big ones so far. Would prefer if we didn't lose power, but it may end up happening if we get the wet heavy snow they are talking about with high winds.

Ahh yep down here in Connecticut we're forecasted to get 15-25+ inches statewide plus some serious winds 25-30 with 60mph gusts.

I'm tapping trees on Sunday... at least that's the plan.

We got anywhere from 6-10 inches, but it's hard to say for sure because whatever is falling is blowing around and drifting.

We won't be leaving the house using the back door anytime soon!

I just cleared the driveway and I'm guessing around 10". Heading to the shanty after breakfast and it'll be easier to tell there in the woods with less drifting. We have 800 tapped now, would like to hit it hard this weekend as they are saying 41 here for Monday --- possibly our first run.....

I got about one inch of snow last night. I was planning on working in the woods today but it is only 5 degrees with wind right now. Supposed to have some rain on Monday.

we are up to about 25-26" its a little after 9:30. snow really slacked off alot. it was 2-3 inches an hour for a while. but its still coming down. they say another 2-5 inches by sometime this afternoon. that would put us about 28-30" they actually got this one right for our area for a change. LOTS of moisture for the trees right at the beginning of the season!!!!

Roughly 2ft here, only thing I could see of my car this morning was the side mirrors. I got the area behind my car cleared, but I think that will be it for now as I doubt I'll be going to work and there really isnt any place to put the car to let the plows through.

In north eastern CT we got hammered with over 30" and in some spots the drifts are deeper, the bulldozer works well for pushing this, but really slow. At least we didn't lose power this time! Now to tap tomorrow in snow shoes..... -.-

It may be a little tough getting around on snow shoes now, give it a day or so, once it settles a bit it will be easier.

Ran into some big issues here at the Back Ridge Sugar House. Good old NEMO pounded the north eastern side of my sugar house so hard it blew the the 30×60 window right out of the case. Needless to say i have a serious problimb inside now. I went in to check everthing on sat. morning and found about 12"-14" of snow on everything. Every sugaring tool and piece of equipment i own is in there and i about had a melt down right there! Oh well not much i can do about it at this point but start cleanint it up and change out a window. Im heading in tonight and fire up the wood stove to get some heat going and start cleaning.
