I was looking at new releasers and was wondering if anyone knowes why the Lapierre > 500 tap releasers are $ 600 and Leader's > 500 tap releasers are $ 900. Is the Leader better built? or is there just that much of a price diferance.

What leader is calling a 500 tap releaser is physically larger than Lapierres 500 tap hobby. That said I personally do not like BHR releasers, I have two now and also two lapierre. When I buy more they will be lapierre.

I think your also paying for the Leader name and yes they are bigger then the Lapierre.I don't think I would run 500 on the Lapierre, one a day with a good run it would most likly get flooded. I have to pick up my new Lapierre Hobby this weekend.

Good choice. You may be waiting a few weeks for one. I ordered mine from The Maple Guys 5weeks ago. But as they promised it would be here early February.

I just picked the double version of the one dennis got. It's the one that was one display at Verona. Got a great deal at a grand opening in Central Bridge, NY. The guy was coming my way and delivered it at no extra cost. Can't wait to watch her dump.

I have several Lap. releasers. One is a hobby the others all bigger ones. They all work real well. Not saying any other ones aren't good to. But have had great succes with Lap.

The Lapierre Hobby Double Releaser is really working great! No troubles so far. The sap is running good this afternoon and evening. It is cycling beautifully. Couldn't be happier at this point. I wasted an hour just watching it work tonight. Boil tomorrow.

Awesome! I finally got to see mine work today. I have the Bernard double model 213 which is basically a bigger version. Nice to finally be getting some sap isn't it.
