It looks like we are going to start Saturday. Hopefully have everything tapped in about a week or so. The long range forcast keeps changing, but it seems like it is about time to get started.

Put in 500 yesterday hopefully finish today. May get warm enough tomorrow to start finding leaks. How come the long term forecast always looks great but the short term never quite gets there?

Weather wasnt that nice for tapping this morning, but the afternoon turned out ok. Had 12 people today so with six crews we got 4000 in today. Should have a big crew again tomorrow.

Another 3000 in today. Went on leak patrol this afternoon when it warmed up and got the new woods up to 27.5 at the releaser. Really like the new vacuum pump so far. Going to try to work on leaks tomorrow afternoon before the freeze up.

We have been getting some water the past day or so. Sugar content is low again, 1.3%. Does anaybody else have low sugar content this year?

Finished up tapping yesterday and got the one pump running. The trees were running decent. Hopping it warms up enough today to track down leaks. Haven,t checked sugar content yet.

Hey guys n girls, im new on here....Anyone on here have a sap release that's going unused that we could possibly rent or buy. Just got an RO this year and trying to get a vacuum hooked up too, we have a smaller patch of about 1300 taps. Thanks Randy

After a very frustrating weekend, we are off and running. We had a bearing go out of our 5 hp water cooled vaccum pump on sun. And since it has been out for a while it grooved the shaft. After searching all of Pa and half of NY we found a local producer who had bought one 5 yrs ago and never installed. It is only a 3hp but is holding at 22". We have boiled every night since Tues with 276 gal made so far. Sap is holding steady around 2%

Jeremy, I had 1.7 on some, my new installation hit 2 . finally got vacuum on it, gas but its running almost 22.5 at half throttle. The person huntin the releaser, where in pa are you? Glad for a day or 2 to recover and redo some things. Apparently my plumbing wont suffice for the bigger ro, hard to get it started and rolling.

Glad to hear you found something to put in place! Always hard when vacuum systems go down.
Hope you have a great season Matt!
