With that evaporator you can draw off as finished syrup.It is designed for continuos flow.That way you would not need to use the propane.

After using my Half Pint last year, and boiling for about 30 hours and not making a drop of syrup I broke out the turkey fryer to finish. Ended the season a pint short of 12 gallons of the sweet stuff. In fairness my wood was not the driest either!

Mike I know that but that was the last boil of the season. only had 40 gallons of sap and it was done flowing so I had to do it that way. I couldn't get the Half Pint until the season was almost done!

Ok so you should be all set this season.It is awesome steeping up from a turkey fryer to a real evaporator.Next you will want a bigger one.
