I put up 800' of used mainline on a new young bush on my propertiy. The mainline came from a bush I leased for only a couple years and didn't want to wast it. So as you can imagian not all of the old saddel holes lined up with the new lat. lines. I was wondering what other have done in the past to seal up the holes. The bush will be on vac.
I really don't want to cut out the holes and coupling them. Do you think electrical tape would work, or say a vinal patch with a hose clamp around it?
thanks ed

To get a perfect leak free seal I thin I would use Coulpings...

cut e a another piece of mainline to go over the hole and black tape/seal it. The vacuum will seat it down or just leave a multi fitting in place and cap it. If you wash the ater pressure can blow these items off. I do not wash anymore so I do not worry about this.

You could put a length of 5/16 onto the saddle, kink it and tie it off with a twist tie.

Just use electrical tape make sure the line is clean and dry and tape over it and work your way back and forth over the hole a couple of times. It should be fine especially if the hole is in the top. The other night I had to hook up a sump pump to pump some water so it wouldn't run in the door of the barn and the line 1 1/4" water line had a split in it about 5' feet from the pump I took a t-shirt dried it off and taped it in the ran and it didn't leak one bit. Someday you might replace the line meanwhile save a few $.

I could be wrong but I think they sell rubber caps to cover the connector. Then tape over the rubber cap.
I beleive it will work well for many seasons.

325abn, its much simpler to cap the saddle fitting than have a big piece of tubing tied off thats a potential leak

Mine doesn't leak plus you can use the saddle somewhere else.
