hi everybody,
my question on my preheater. Is it normal for it to run uphill from the inlet to the float box? this is a new evaporator i bought over the summer just setting it up and don't want to do it wrong and mess something up (this will be the first time i've sugared in 30 years ) thanks in advance

The important things are that sap will flow in and then out to your float, that you have a vent on the high end that is higher than your feed tank, and that you can drain it after a boil to avoid frozen and busted pipes. Set it up with water to test it first.

Yes you want the inlet on the lowside and outlet on the high side.
