flat covers

I was recently given around 90 flat covers from a friend that just had them laying around. I have never used these before and was wondering how well they will work with the leader 5/16 hookles spouts anyone have any advice

I do not think they will work with leader's small bucket spout. The wire on the flat cover needs to go through the hole in the 7/16 spout. It flips up on the spout so you can empty the bucket.

They work fine with the 5/16" spout. I drill a hole in the top of the spout where the raised area is just larger than the wire in the bucket and they stay on all season and work great! :D

I am in the design-testing phase of making some little thingys that will fit on the small spouts so I can use my old buckets and flat covers. I could not bare buying 125 new covers and punching big holes in the buckets! If these thingys work I can make extra. I will update with the findings.
