Sap Price

Does anybody have any experience selling sap to Bascoms? Do they pay in cash and/or store credit? Do you get more if you take the store credit? I am only 2 miles from them so it might pay for me to do this.

From Bascoms 2013 sap price list I just picked up.

from .10/gal for .8% all the way up to .66/gal for 4% with 2 cent increments for every .1% increse in sugar content.

So 100 gal of 2% sap will get me $33 cash. It may pay for me to put it a few more taps just to sell thae sap seeing as I am only 2 miles from them.

It is something you should talk about with Bruce ahead of time. I don't think they pay cash, but rather wait till the end of the season and write a check. Also there are very few that we will even buy sap from. Causes problems buying sap and being registered organic.

I will certainly talk to Bruce before I put in extra taps just for the sap.
