Thanks. Was a long time in the making. Could have never done it without all the great ideas here on the Trader!

Awesome job. Does the float box/steam pan sit on the rail or is just held on by the fittings? Is the the head tank the 5 gallon bucket?

the triclover fitting is the only thing holding it right now. Was a last minute add. I would like to hang it on the pan for next year.

Yes its a five gallon bucket. What are you gonna do when your sugaring on the cheap? It keeps me on my toes that's for sure.

It's all good. I'm doing five gallon buckets by hand into my preheater pan four times an hour. I know what you mean. Between firing, pouring sap into the preheater, getting more wood ready, bringing more sap in, checking density, drawing off... I wonder what the chair is for. Once a visitor shows up, I'm screwed. I've been trying to decide if I should set up an el-cheapo float box or wait until I get a flue pan and a higher evap. rate.

Thanks for sharing this. I like the design. It might be within my reach. Are all of those soldered connections or are those welds?

The piece on the flask is soldered.
The outlet is welded.

The float box is a life saver. I don't have to worry about level, although I still do.
