I agree with shane and it looks like I'm in the same class as you 5050- a few buckets on gravity. The warm up looks too short and you may not get enough to make it worth your while boiling this week. Better temps look likely near mid feb per the long range forecast. If you tap now you may also shorten the season due to bacteria closing up your taps sooner. I'm going to wait a few weeks and go for the longer run.

I tapped in CT yesterday and will finish up today. I remember reading somewhere that the temperature in the crown of the trees where the freeze and thaw of the twigs creates the pressure can be up to 5 degrees different than on the ground. I am hoping that will make some of the marginal temperature days allow some sap to flow.

Well went up in the woods and did my first collection and WOW! I have 19 trees and about 21 gal.Today started out at 32 and now it's 45,going to 60 wed.I think it will run all night. The trees are all wet from condensation since we had temps down to 5 in the mornings and not above freezing for sometime.I think I'll be boiling thursday since the warm temps with frozen jugs of ice in the storage tank don't want to loose it to the warm weather.

I am jealous, I was hoping for a big flow today but her in northern CT it never got above 40. I was lucky to have the lines unfreeze.
