For many years I owned beagles. There were a few occassions where a rabbit would swim across a creek trying to get away from the dogs. We called them "swamp" rabbits.

Thanks Don - I always figured most animals will swim - if under pressure. This was an eye opener - Rabbits swimming back and forth - in Winter - without something after them. Thanks for sharing this. I'm always learning. -----Mike-----

That rabbit must have gone back for a towel.

Aren't all animals born with the ability to swim? Even humans naturally know how to swim as newborns. However we are probably the only species that "loses" that natural ability as we grow out of infancy??

Humans are not unique in not being natural swimmers. The other 3 great ape species are all known for being pretty poor swimmers.
