Okay....finally made it happen. Went and visited with Bill Mason yesterday and ordered up my new unit. Will be a 2x4 XL with raised flue back pan and 24" x18" syrup pan, with AUF. Can't wait to get it set up and running. Bill promises 20+ GPH with it.644764486449

he just started this past year i believe. it is on his website. i believe the base cost for a 2x4 xl is $1400 then the blower is around $150. i would have purchased this if he had it 2 years ago, now i am hopefully going to pull the trigger next week on a 30" x 8' from bill. fingers crossed my wife is having a good day at work today!! wish me luck!

I saw that he made new pans for 2X4's with more sections for the sap to flow through but did not know he made raised flues for the hobby evaporators. I will have to talk with him. Thanks for posting!

Bill quoted me $2500.00 complete. Over $1000.00 less than I could find anywhere else for a comparable unit. If anyone out there is looking for a small hobby sized unit, go talk to Bill. He's very easy to talk with and will work with you on a good set-up for your needs

Does anyone know if he also makes this type of pan on a 2X3? I was looking at the drop flue pan from Smokey Lake for a 2X3. If noone knows I may shoot him an email and check. That is a real nice unit you have silverado.

Looks like a great little rig. I would love to know how many GPM you end up getting. Enjoy.

I went to see Bill with the idea that i wanted at least 20GPH. Bill assured me that this unit would do the job. From what I have read in other posts, I should be closer to 25GPH with this unit. I also have an idea in my head that I'm gonna try when I actually get it set up, that should increase GPH another 3 to 4 GPH
