View Full Version : Springtech HERO IN-LINE RO
Curious to know if anyone has any experience with this RO..It is good for 250-500 taps and has a 50 GPH feed rate. Just thinking ahead here. Seems like a simple setup and a good beginner.
You can buy a lot of used ro for the price of a new one
true, maybe there is a used HERO out there?

you can make the same r/o from off the shelf components for a lot less money.

Yeah tha is kind of what I have been gathering from the folks that I have been talking to thus far.
Get ahold of Ray Gingerich in Ohio. He makes all sizes. For the price of a Hero you could probably get any size you want from Ray.

I have an older style Hero. It is horizontal instead of vertical. It is a low pressure RO run at about 100 Lbs. It wil take half of the water out, which means half of the wood and half of the time to boil. The rear float controls the concentrate. The slower you boil the higher the concentrate, the faster the lower the concentrate.
Mine always seems to around half the water, 2%-4%. I run a 30x 6 raised flued, 4' flue and 2' finish pan and we do about 80 gallons an hour. It is inline so it only runs when you boil, you can't let it run to make concentrate while you are boiling. I was told because of the way works it heats up the concentrate to much and wll spoil. I love it but we are starting to out grow it, about 900 taps this year. Very simple to run and maintain.

If you are interested in selling, I would be interested in buying in the future. I am only at 160 taps but am gearing up for doubling that next year. I run a 2x6 Leader with 3' pans.
