Hey Don:
I know you like to fish, so I wanted to show you our fishing measuring tape when out with the boys. This was not our best fish. It was a new to us lake, so basically fun and testing holes around the lake.
A friend of a friend allowed us to use his camp for two days so we went. Not sure why Canadians call them Specks, Specled Trout ,but when we fish with all our American friends they call them "Brookies" !! All the same.

One more trip planned to a diff location next month.

Hey Don:
We are going again in Feb. for a fast two-three sleeps in a camp up north in Ontario. We are going to what they call a "Trophy Lake". It is only open to fishing 1 month a year. We hope to beat the 4 can Brookie !!
Gotta do something till the sap drips !!

Brook refer to the litlle stream where thy spawn, Speckled came from there appearance with small spots of contrasting colors, and is a traduction of "Moucheté" in French.

Well back from the Trophy Lake....no trophy's this time.
The gang got hammered by SLUSH going into the camp on Friday eve. Our normal 2 hr. snowmachine ride took 7 hrs.
Lots of ski pulling, when someone is stuck in the slush you gotta ride your machine to land and walk back to them or else your all stuck, just a terrible thing. Only one fish was caught it was about 1lbs.,nothng to brag about.
Still good times at camp with friends, the ride out was just fine, all lakes were frozen solid.
Big snow storm going on here today, weather advisories and terrible driving today.
No sap anytime soon here.

Hi Steve:
The special measuring tapes that were emptied just on Friday eve. would keep a homeless person happy for a week !!
Less weight and passengers next time for sure.
It is usually a fun ride in, just no one had been on the trails before us this time.
I was a weak link too with my snow machine, lost my headlight and hand warmers on the ride in. Some dumb electrical issue I now have to figure out. Hopeing a bad ground ???
