preheater ???

New pan this year,pan is 30''x57'' by 10'' high ,my question is if i put a couple rows of 1/2'' copper pipe down the outside near the top,will this be enough to preheat the sap before entering the pan

everything I seen on here about copper tubing is you have to be very careful not to run dry,as the sugar burns.We have a little 18x48 I put a stainlesssteel box about 18x12 and keep about 10 gals of sap in it and plce it on evap by the flue it has a spigot on to control sap flow if you would like a pic feel free to p.m. me
