Cull Tree Sap %

I have cull tree I put a tap in for the heck of it.....registering at 1.5% sugar content today.

Whats a cull tree ?

A tree that is of no value to me.....i.e going to cut it down.

I guess my question is.

Is there another tree close to it so that it will benefit another tree to cut it down?
Second, dont cut it yet, measure sugar content again as the season progresses, you may be surprised at what happens.

I had one last year that measured 0.7 one day, measured that one more than once with 2 people (Kevin Sargant) and later in the season it was doing the same as all the other trees.... so dont hack it down yet.
