I have an SP-22. I run it at 22". It will pull 28". I keep it backed down to 22" for cooling purposes.

Has anyone experimented with extra cooling fans, or flooding water on the pump, or circulating the crank case oil through a radiator to keep them cool enough to pull higher vacuum continuously?

When I used an SP-22 i ran it at 25"for days at a time with no extra cooling. I ran Rotella 15-40 for oil.

I really appreciate the reply. Ever have any trouble running it that hard? WHatever happened to the pump?

Not a problem. I just went with a bigger water cooled pump to try to get higher vacuum.

Im interested in this too, I also have an sp22 that I keep at about 22" to keep it cooler. I've thought about a catch tray underneath and letting water run down over the head.
