I got a hell of a deal on all the ruff cut I got about 2500 BDFT for about $500, granted I had to drive about 4 hours to get it. Then the 2 X 4s and roofing was probably about $1500 or so.

Great looking set up. Love the shots with the steam out the vent.
How do you like the oil burner?

Looks great. I have been thinking about building something very similar. Did you design it yourself, or do you have plans?

Thanks for the compliments. Love the oil burner, it works well for me right now. I flip a switch and have a rolling boil in about 4-5 minutes then turn it off, turn the lights off and go to bed. Of course I have to buy oil...... everything is a trade off I suppose. No plans other than what was in my head.

Looks great, we are looking to repurpose a 12x16 shed and put a 2x4 evaporator and finally get inside. Now that you have had a couple of years what are your favorite design aspects and what would you change? If you don't mind sharing.

Do you end up with condensation dripping on your head from the metal roofing? I was advised to board up the roof tight (instead of strapping) to avoid "rain" inside the sugarhouse.

Mine dripped until I made a hood. That solved the dripping issue, and raised the boil rate slightly.
