Just got my float box done. Used a stainless flask for the float, soldered the connector on and found a steam table pan for the box. The adjustment on the valve itself isn't very fine, but I think I can bend the rod to compensate.

I like the idea of keeping the crown royal warm for sipping in the float box, very handy!

Nice float idea, but daggone it, how do you get the Crown Royal sipped when it's in that little ole box? A person could get awful thirsty trying to get a lip lock on that one.

Very cool that you used a steam pan for the floatbox, sad to see the flask get used in that kind of way though!
Haven't you ever seen those food grade toilet tank floats!!

Nice job.

What size flask did you use?

Don't feel to bad for the flask, it was $5 China junk.
It is an 8 ounce flask. Anyway I like my drinks in 16 oz. long neck bottles.

Where did you pick up that flask? how deep do you have your sap in the float box?

The flask was eBay. $5 and free shipping. I made it so the steam pan is about 3/4 inch below the pan. The steam pan isn't real tall so it gave just enough room for the float valve and float. It gives me enough liquid for the float to... well float. The steam pan was also eBay. $15 I think with free shipping.

Hi, great idea what kind of valve are you using.

Got that off eBay as well. Its a Mueller BK 1/2" bronze float valve. Heard good overall reviews on them.
The adjustment isn't very fine though so I bend the rod for adjustment. Also in my other post "2x6 homemade video" You can see how I use the string holding up the feed line to fine tune the flow.
