In the leader catalog Grimm offers a blower system for a 30x8 but the blower is only 273 CFM That just doesent sound like enough to me, any thoughts? Im sure they have done there home work but right under the Grimm is the leader setup and there blower has 963CFM. I want to buy a blower setup but i just am confused now lol.... maybe ill just build my own.
that is what I did, built my own for half the cost of the Grimm. used the Grimm as a template though. Bought my squirrel cage blower off the internet, along with the Rheostat..Made up a plennum and that was it..You can see it on my photos I think

I put a blower in the draft door. It fit in perfectly and the flange holds it I place. here is a pic of it on the front of my 2x6 in the draft door. this is a 465cfm blower. i put a rheostat on it. It burns a lot of wood wide open. You need to make sure the doors are insulated, or you will light the sugar house with the glow from them!

I would build your own. I think the big manufacturers are overpriced. Here is a great article on combustion improvement that may be helpful. http://www.uvm.edu/~pmrc/Combustion.pdf

Yes that is true for every piece of maple equipment they make!
