With the new check valves do i need to use a tubing tool to put spout on the drop line or should i just push it on by hand? This will be on a gravity system how can i tell if theres a air leak?

Your tubing well slip right on the new CV2 spout. As long as you push the tubing past the line you will not have a leak.

Are they readily available? I thought they were only out in limited supply this year.

yeah, they are in there..but, it also says limited quantities. a nice feature is not having to have a stubby. But then again, you have to cut your drop each year alittle to remove the clear CV

Looked on their website and couldnt find them, only the original cv's.

I know it has been said the tubing will push right on the new cv. I wonder if anybody has tried pushing them on by hand in 20 degree weather. I try to tap before it warms up and I know a lot of other producers do too. The cold tubing might make it difficult to push 800 cv's on in a day by hand without a tool.

There should be no difference then pushing tubing on smart spouts. The cold never affected me putting any of the smart spouts on last year. Although after doing 750 spouts a day for a week straight it did affect my hand and arm. I must be getting old.:)

I don't believe they are on the website yet. SKU # is 4712, price is $0.40 each. To my knowledge, they are still in somewhat limited supply, but not quite as bad as they had initially thought they would be.

I hope they do not discontinue the original CV as I will continue to use them..I dont know if Ilike the idea of having to cut off the spout each season??

As far as I know this is not being considered.

I am glad, cause I am also concerned about cleaning the tubing with the new CV's...I use an air water mixture...How would you plug the new CV so that water wouldnt escape until such time as you want it to?

I sure hope they don't discontinue the old cvs,one less job to do after making repairs and brushing, tapping etc is fine by me
