Head tank question

Any of you guys ever used a aluminum head tank? Is there any reason why i couldent use aluminum? I have heard of people using steel so i guess i dont see any reason not to but i thought i woud throw it out there. The sugar house piggy bank is empty and i need a head tank :) I know you shouldnt boil sap in aluminum but i figured a holding tank would be ok. thanks again guys. im gettin the fever!!!!

ive read to not use it as a storage tank, maybe a head tank would be ok if you drain it every night. im using a 55 gallon drum this year till i get the cast for stainless, so when you can i would buy a stainless tank
