Warped Grates

I am using a D&G 18"x48" model. Had it for 4 years now.

Both grates were VERY warped and I knew it was just a matter of time.

This year one of the grates snapped in half on the LAST DAY OF BOILING. :cry:

What would cause them to warp like that? It happened about 2 years ago and I figured I would just use them til they broke.

What are the replacement options? Different size openings for air?

Not using a blower (yet).

Probably got ashes up against the bottom of them and heat from both sides will do this. Need to keep as much air space underneath them.

Of course, will the quality of equipment D&G makes, I am dumbfounded. Nothing they make could every go bad in 4 YEARS. 8O

Wher your grates in upside down? Some types of grates it matters
