unusally stinky gunk in the lines this year

Posting for Parker- he was up in his Hill sugarbush today and pulled a few taps and noticed an really foul smell. Not the vingegary smell like other years. Parker had this bush tapped late last year- still pulling a week after the real warm spell of last season.

Anyone else notice some unusually smelly lines this fall? If so, any theories out there as to why?
