How long should I cut my firewood for a CDL 2X6?
Thanks Brian

how ever long your grates are minus a couple inches shorter so the door doesn't hit the wood you just put in

Im using about 18'' wood, beacuse much more than that, my little splitter wont accept it. Some cut it shorter so they can make like a log cabing inside, by criss crossing the wood.

Actually, it is suggested you stay 4-6" inside the door. I also find that a hill of glowing coals forms at the back, I think my grates are 32" but I only cut my wood 21".

I like it a little shorter so I can cris cross but I have have a mix of 16-18" with 24" fire box but I have adrop flue and it helps me to not hit the flues with wood while keeping it off the doors a little. but thats just me!!!
