I know A&A of Ulysses, Pa is pretty cheap if you don't mind amish craftsmanship. I think a 2x8 from them comes in around 3000. They aren't real shiny but they'll boil down the sap. I think H2O innovations comes in at 5900 or right around. Leader I think is closer to 6500 depending on raised or drop flue, drop flue being cheaper in most cases. I think lapierre is even a little more than that. Don't quote me on these prices because this is off hand. You can always look around at like Bascom's and the maple guys website to get an idea. Worst comes to worst you can always hear it straight from the horses mouth and give some dealers a call. I hope this helps a little.

Oops, I completely missed you saying raised flue. More often than not, raised flue is more expensive. Usually like $500+/-. Also, whether or not you want stainless sides and stack is more. I think it's usually upwards of 500 to 700 more.

Bascom's sell a lot of used evaporators of that size. If you go to their site check it out. Last time I looked they had about 10 for sale al ranging from 2x6-2x8.

Just bought a lapierre 2x8 storm for $6,700, galvanized sides and stainless stack 16' in length included. They do make their classic model which is a little cheaper.

I just got my new 2.5X8 CDL all stainless. It comes with everything but brick and gasket. And i mean everthing. Roof jack, all stack, stackcover, pan plugs, all valves, rain coller, float boxes, you name it, and everthing is high pollished stainless. Granted i spring ordered mine so i got it on sale but i paid $5800.00 with tax.

Looking at A&A price list right now.. A 2x8 raised flue with regular (non airtight) front is $2545. ($225 extra for airtight front.) If you are ok with lead-free soldered, how can you beat this price? I am excited to use my 2.5x10 raised flue A&A evaporator. Gary R on this site has a 2x8 from A&A.

Search Gary R's threads on here. I think Atlee Miller's address is in one of my posts too. I know its in Ulysses, Pa. I went though Ray Gingerich in Orwell, Ohio.

I believe I paid about $3300. Mine included an air tight front, raised flue, hood and preheater, all stainless arch, stacks, roof jacks, brick and blanket. I'm very happy with it. It is not bright annealed and is more difficult to clean. I'm OK with that. For some they may want shiney.

I bought 2.5x8 drop flue pans and float last year from A&A and am well pleased. We had a tiny leak in the syrup pan that plugged up after the first boil.
price I believe was $2250.00 We made almost 50 gallon of syrup last year and am looking for years of use from my new pans!!
