I decided when I got my evaporator to take pictures of each step I took to brick it up. I did this so people can get ideas for theirs and/or opinions from others. Its gunna take time to put up all these photos.

Wow you even bricked under the grates.
Looks good. Looks just like my 2x5'.
I'm not sure how you will be doing the back half but I will give a very short version of what I have done.
I bricked mine just like the directions say, with the slopped bricks down to the stack collar area.
Boiled the 1st year with the evap that way. found that the back part of the flue pan wasn't boiling that great.
I figured that the flames and heat was dropping out of the flues to soon.
So I then went and re-bricked the back half. This time I layed up brick flush with the top of the arch rails to about 8-9" from the stack base collar. I used math to figure out the exact distance. No need to go way more that square inches of the base stack.
Ran the evap that way this past season and flue pan was full boil all the time.
Just my 2 cents.
Good luck and keep posting the great how-to pics.

I would like a little more detail thinking of putting another layer of brick under my raised flew to get the back to boil a little harder It is a v shaped flew pan so there is a lot of air space left even if the bricks were right up to the bottom of the flues. are you saying that is pretty much what you di anthen let it come down under the stack?

Sorry but this is all I can upload for photos. I was looking forward to showing everyone all the photos. Maybe I'm doing something wrong but this really upsets me.

Middleton Maples, The proper way to post a story in photos is to upload them to a photo host such a photo bucket or any other. Then just link to them in your post. We are limited in space and too many pictures use up our space.

Looks good, if you can try the photobucket to continue the pics...
Where did you purchase your arch board?
What is the rating on it? 2300 or 2500 and above
Are you using 1 or 2" thick board?
Are you bricking with 1/2 or full?
The area most in questions is the firebox... Will be doing this soon and trying to get some ideas...

Thanks, it does look good but this what I do for a living, I'm a mason, thats why I want to post the progress of which I did it. I got my arc board at bascom's but then I taped the seems with heat tape. (I had extra lying around probably doesn't need it) but yea its rated that high and its 1 inch thick. I used a combination of split brick and full brick and it shows in the pictures that will be coming up soon. hopfully:rolleyes:
