Hi
Just checking in
Grew up in north central MN Baylake born and raised
Used to tap/gather and sit the fire as a kid but haven't for years Old Bob McClain prolly tapped 1,000 trees or better...
Been going to tap a few for prolly 20 years
Now stuck in an apartment I've been talking to the Nabes an will prolly be Tapping 400 next spring over a 10 mile radius...Most of these people I have to visit every day anyway
The last few years I have been paining over cutting down trouble Maples and glad I have the wood to smoke over since I'm a BBQ Chef...Old School all wood no propane or electric...
Anyway
I have a line of Bacon dedicated to Maple, And my Maple syrup consumption has gotten to the point that I need to produce some
I gotta say
WOW the tech or syruping has come a long way in the last 35 years
Thanks for the site and the info

Spec, thanks for stopping in. I'm just down the road from you in River Falls, WI. I'd love to meet you, sounds like with your syrup consumption and my bacon consumption, we could be fast friends. I'm looking for more taps in the area, so if you find some further east that you don't end up tapping, keep me in mind. I might buy some sap too, if you've got too much to deal with. Feel free to drop me a line if you want to come by sometime. I'm living in WA state right now, but moving back to WI for good in December. Welcome to mapletrader, there's a ton of good info and resources on here.
