I ran a sp11 on 400 taps this year. wet/dry for about 1000 ft., then furthest tap is 500ft beyond that. Not ideal, but it is what I've got. 22" at the releaser and 17" at the furthest gauge. I had a BB4 on this bush to start the season but had problems with the pump so swapped it out for the sp11 I had cobbled together. so an SP11 is doable, but not ideal. I plan on putting a sp-22 there for next year.

We have 48 (1 inch) mains coming off of our wet/dry lines. We were advised not to extend the 1 inch mains longer than 1,000ft. Have 27" at the sugarhouse and normally 25 or 26" at the end of the sugarbush (over a mile away). We have gauges and shut off valves attached to all 48 mains so we can isolate leaks.

An SP11 is 11 cfm @ 15" if run at design RPM. To get 20" or so you likely will lose half, so with good vac system you should be able to run 550 taps. To be real and realize you will have leaks, 400 might be better. I think your weak link is not the pump but rather the main. If you use 1" for that number you will get better vac to the outer end of the system, or better yet, run wet/dry, with the 3/4 being the dry. To cobble it into an existing main, just run the 1" up and tie it into the 3/4 every 200' or so. This will better transfer the vacuum.

Did you mean the sp22 has 11cfm? The sp-11 has 5.5 cfm american. I ran 570 taps for several years, your 327 taps are ok as is. 1'' would be better though. 400 taps is what I would consider ideal for an sp-11, over that and you really have to keep on the maintenance of the lines or one little leak and you'll lose big time. I know of a few guys running 700, but that is not ideal, but better than nothing.

The SP-11's rating is 5cfm of free air at 15 inches of vacuum. The SP-22 has a rating of 11cfm of free air at 15 inches of vacuum according to the literature I have here on the SP's. The older BB4 is 14.5cfm so I would imagine the BB2 is slightly larger than a SP11 in case anyone is wondering about one of those pumps. Hope this helps.

My bad, I was told my Alamo 30 and Alamo 75 meant 30 and 75 CFM at 15". I figured the 11 and 22's were numbered the same.
