Im sealing the saphouse. I tok out an overhead door that lets dust blow in and built a couple swinging doors that will seal when closed. IM sheeting the celing. IM byulding a partition wall to seperate the firewood storage from the evaprator/kitchen area.
I have a lot of branchline laying on the ground, and a lot that has droops in it because I installed it wrong. Im working on getting it pulled tight and sloped downhill to the mains. I have some mains that are too high. IM gonna lower them so the branchline can slope up from the mains, and I wont have to use a ladder to tap.
I am working on somore form of preheater. Also running mainline and laterals at a buddys house. WIll pick up another 50+ taps of nice sugars on gravity. Will be doing some sap hauling though, about 5 miles from my house.
Gonna buy a used filter/canner (flat) that I know off, hope to get a good deal. Lastly, I want to find some windows, the old wooden sash style to put in the sugarhouse as I dont have any windows in there at all!

Planning to add 3 or 4 thousand more for next year on vacuum maybe more , that would put me between 8 and 9 thousand. Ill probably stop when I get to 20,000. Should be able to make some money at that point.

Shored up my leaning sugarhouse last week with my truck and a come along. Installed a new culvert and gravel and getting a logger in there to thin out my 18 acre sugarbush parcel and harvest some softwood. Planning on installing some new 1" mainline and setting up my 600 tap bush for vacuum.

I'm hoping to add 500 +- this year but also need to rebuild my arch. The metal is giving way on the bottom. I was thinking of taking the pieces of the arch apart one by one. Then take the pieces to a place that can cut and bend to be just like those I took apart. Then reassemble. I have a 4*12 and need a new finish pan. I need a new stack too. Stainless this time. The last one only made it 5 years. And I really want this to be the year that I pull power to the Sugarhouse and get an RO. Does anyone know of a person in Central VT that could/would cut and bend Galvanized/Stainless metal for me? So just a few things to do. Oh yeah put up 15 cord of wood.

I'm thinning out the 3 acre sugarbush and adding 30-40 taps once I raise my lines up again. I also already made improvements on tank foundation/placement, tank covers, sugarhouse lighting, steam-hood repairs, air-tightening the arch, etc...

All I'm doing is marking my Maples and making a map so I know what trees to tap in 2013. I had 2 BIG silver maples right close to the house and didn't even know it!
