How did everybody end up for this season? I for one am trying to find time to finish boiling my sweet down. I am thinking I'll take it out of the freezer in July and finish it off.

Can't wait for next spring.

we are at 120 gal and still pulling about 2-300 gal per day right now. buds are still not out here. we might have a week or so left. how much were you able to make?

The new baby's doing great thanks for askin'. He sure knows how to make a guy tired though!

Mr. North Shore: Sounds like your season was a "little" longer than the rest of the state.

I got 3/4 gallon of syrup off 53 taps.... The trees have been budding for weeks. Bad year to start

we put taps in on the 15th ,16th and its been slow for most of the year. But its been ok for my first year getting into it on a little larger scale. I know that I need a RO for next year.

Hi Everyone, I ended up with 11.5 gallons of delicious dark amber. Started with 110 taps and added about 35 half way through the one week run. I was really happy with the results for my first year especially the goofy weather. Next year I am going to 200 taps.

We tap in Bloomington and NW near Perham. Got sap but later than we expected even when weather warmed. Had little freezing at night and 60 degree days and better. Sap in Bloomington seemed normal. Lots of bugs up north but they filter out fine. We had the strangest thick gritty sediment when it reached about 210-215 degrees. In 30 years of on and off again syruping this has never happened. Coated the pan with crust that took alot of work to scour out. Tapped 22 trees up north and ran about a 3 week season/ Previous summer was wet but fall and spring dry with little snow cover. Did the sap just pick up a lot more minerals?? What a year!!
