On to cord wood and then sugar wood for next year in which should have enough for the next four years if it does not rot first:lol:

It just didn't seem right pulling taps when it is still March! I was having a hard time getting motivated to pull taps today but got the buckets done and have close to half of the tubing washed and taps pulled. I should be able to finish the rest of the tubing tomorrow. After that I only have a couple of tanks the evaporator and the releaser and pumps to clean. Everything else is done.

It is rare that I am not working on something sugaring related in a day. Cutting wood, pulling taps, working on the sugarhouse, selling products, marketing products, responding to emails about products, etc.,etc. By may sugaring stuff may slow down, but the market season will just be getting going.

Everything finished washing up,spoils capped for the season, even pressure washed the big flue pan to look like brand new again(though it only boiled about 7 times),should have left the sap in the syrup pan longer though,it is going to need acid to get cleaned up.Already gathering up wood for next season, but the black flies are present here already!!!!!!!

We're just going good here in the UP. Got my best run of the year on the 29th and 30th. Had 30 degrees last night and already about 32 right now and snowing. Should get a good run tomorrow but we gotta be getting close to done.

Always pass through Newberry on the way to Paradise. God knew what He was doing when He crafted the UP. Great scenery and wonderful inhabitants....Man and beast alike.
Sugar on my friend...Sugar on!

Perry your still boiling???? been pretty good end of season sap weather down here but nothing really flowing and the sap tastes nasty been getting freezes every other to every 3 days !!! Things just too far along even though there have been some good sap days...

Tried to get an early start on pulling taps this morning I like to turn on the vac to suck out any sap deposits and suck a little water in through the end line tap. but everything is frozen up 20's here last night.

Yeah man its just not right if we didn't have the Tropical weather on top of us for a week and a 1/2 we'd still be boiling!!! and it would have been a hell of a season I think. but poop happens to everyone now and again!!!

I am getting motivated Making brooder cages picked up some metal yesterday that got me going a little. should cost just over $100 (only want new metal not used) the fancy ones in the catalogs are $270. and mot deep enough to keep them in there very long.

Alrighty back to work!!!

11:30 Came in to get some lunch going...Man Saps running good Got about 100 taps out but the sap is NASTY!!! oh its milky and stinks!!!! oh man!!!
