You could take a large pot32 qtr or smaller put some water in it then put a smaller pan in that and add your syrup bring it up to temp.190-195 so you some room fill containers before it cools down .that's what I did till I had a friend make me a new 20x13 x11 I think cant remember exact. With a shut off and its great ill put some pics up soon hope you had fun this yr.

I built one last year too, very similar to RileySugarbush's (but a little more "no-frills") and have actually been meaning to post a few photos (with my thoughts about what worked/didn't work about it) to the aforementioned thread (I've learned so much from this site; about time I start "giving back" a little, right? :D ). spencer11 - i'll try to get those in the next week so you've got another example to work off from.

thanks! looks great. i think im gonna make a combination of both yours and johns, any hopefully will come out good. i tried souldering a nipple in to my finishing pot this year(16 qt stock pot) and it took a littl while but workd and leaks a little but il happy with it..for my first time anyway. i plan to find a junk grill and turn on of the side buner thing into a canner to heat it. but i will probably start building this pretty soon and try and get some pics up

spencer - FYI - I think "adverdsmith" is a spambot of some sort. He just copied a part of a sentence of one of my posts farther above. If you look at his profile his join date was today.... his location is in the U.K.... red flags all over....

Sorry... looks like you're stuck with Riley & my pictures...!

I seen the post on sugarbush.info site yesterday I think it was. Definately were gone today though. I think thats the difference between having active admin and mods, he probably got picked up on pretty quick and got nuked.
