My wife picked this up for washing tanks & buckets but it apparently has soap in it. Certainly makes bubbles like soap. The jug even still says REGULAR at the bottom so watch out.

I don't use it in my tubing but Chlorox does a great job on the stainless tanks.

Hot water and elbow grease will get the job done, with far less chance of cross contamination occuring.

How does avoiding bleach decrease the chance of cross contamination? If you're cleaning several tanks are you using a new scrubber or brush for each one?

I gave up using chlorox in the tubing years ago but I never can seem to get rid of the film in the tanks w/ elbow grease. Just a couple glugs of chlorox in a 5 gallon pail of water, hit the tank w/ a sponge mop, rinse 3 times and it's like new.

I have never had a problem cleaning even the dirtiest of my stainless tanks with water, hot water works best but cold does work fine too, and a brush. What does the chlorox do? is less scrubbing required?

I just use a bulk tank brush for the tough stuff and my pressure washer. The pressure washer alone does a good job without scrubbing for most things.
Bleach kills bacteria so some use it to sanitize their tanks.

bleach seem to also cut right thru the biofilm on the tank surfaces.
