Anyone have experience with colored sap from only the tubing? Just had our first runs in West Central Minnesota....trees finally woke up! We have two sets of gravity tubing with about 12 trees on each. The sap from both of these groups has a light tea color. The sap from just single drop and bucket is crystal clear. Same buckets used for tubing and drops. Has happened on two days now. Daytime temps have been about 60-70 degrees.

Please let me know if this has been answered already or should have been in another spot.

Thanks for any ideas.

I had a red maple that was split at the crotch and sap was running down the out side of the tree and somehow got re-entered into the spile.i have vacuum so im sure that added to the problem. it wasnt hard to find the tree, all i had to do was walk the main line and found it at the jumper tube and saddle
