Boiled the last of it

My hobby is very small scale but I last collected tuesday the 13th. Boiled it up last night and smelled all right until I finished. Slight bitter aftertaste. 2nd year and I made just over 3 gallons good thing I started early.

Have held out until today. Yesterday the sun did not come out until late afternoon and they started to run then the clouds came in and it started to cool down and no go. Was below freezing here last night so hoping today can get one last run for some cooking syrup, if not time to clean up. Have made 17 gallons to date, twenty three short from last season, but not going to complain for a hobby.:)
