Does anyone know why you would get niter in the first channel of the flue pan? I could see it doing it on the last channel but not the first. I am boiling 13 brix sap. There is no niter in the rest of the pans except the last channel of the syrup pan.

I was thinking that I would have to chase the concentrate with permeate to get some off. How often do you clean the flue pan?

Is this where you add defoamer?

I don't use defoamer because of the air injection, it sure is nice. I better get boiling, the tanks are ready to go over the top. I will try to boil permeate at the end of the night and see what that does.
