First time drawing off?

This is my first boil with my rebuilt 30"X10' Leader on propain. It is going great I was just wondering, how everyone else draw off from the evaperator? I am at about 7 deg. above boiling temp. Should I try to finish on the evaperator, or finish elsewhere and then to the canner? Any help would be wonderful.

hmmmm....if you are 7 deg above boiling temp, shouldn't you be at your evaporator right now now? Most people finish where they have the most control for testing purposes without the temp getting too high. With that said, your rig is bigger than I'm used to and I don't have experience with a propane arch.

Ok - that's good. My bush is a few Kms from cell connection so internet is not close by - hence my quick reaction!

One other thing worth mentioning is that another benefit of finishing by another means is that you can squeeze another filter step in between near-syrup and finishing.
