I was trying to describe the way to check laterals to see if everything is working.
Obviously, when the lateral has 20 or 30 taps and the sap is running, it's a no-brainer because you can see the flow...
But if there are only a few taps, I take my thumb and index finger and make a bend in the tubing (create a small sag) and watch carefully to see if the sap starts building up. Once I see the sag in the pipe filling up w/ sap, I know that the lateral is not blocked downstream.
