Somebody on here had flowmeters for sale & there was a picture also. Could somebody tell me who,or maybe even the guy who had them?

I have some water meters that work good. Some of the traders have bought some. I originally posted in for sale with photos when the album section was up and running but now that it's not I can e-mail you a picture. They need to have the sap pumped through so they will not be accurate on a gravity feed line to the evaporator. The way I have mine is I have a small heated room (3'X3'X4') under my feed tank. I keep my pump and meter in there and never have to worry about freezing. I pump the sap through the filter and then through the meter up to my head tank. This is the way I keep track of the amount I boil.

Does the impellar turn to hard for for gravity flow? Would like to install it on the line going into our preheater.Email mtbt@aernet.ca

The meter will not be very accurate on a gravity flow. The meter range is from 20 GPM max to .25GPM So if your flow is only trickling it will not give an accurate reading.
Let me hook one up to hose and try to see if it will work under low flow.
As far as your question about gravity flow yes it will work , however my concern is the slow flow you will get from the float if it is just trickling in.

I hooked one up to my feedtank a couple years ago. I almost burnt my pans because of it. The pressure from a 100 gallons tank wasn't enough to make the meeter run and eventuallly stopped the flow all together. I didn't relize it till i was almost dry. I threw the meeter away.

When I bring the sap in, I pump it thru my UV light which is thru a 3/4" line and I am getting around 10 gph. I would like to get one I can hook up after the UV light and before the 625 gallon milk tank I store in. :)

Do you mean 10 gal per minute? At 10GPH the meter will not work but at 10GPM it will be just right

Keith,
It is 10gpm, sorry for the mistake. How heavy are the flow meters, I may have to give you a shout in a few months and get one for next season?

They weigh around 5-6 lbs and are brass.
