Different strokes for different folks, 1.When your out of wood, or trees bud and sap turns cloudy yellow,or your just tired of it for the year.or you have other things to get to. or etc etc

When you come inside and your wife wonders who you are, it is just about time to pull the taps.

Ropey, buddy, or off tasting syrup would be another reason.

thanks for the insight, sad to say that i think this is the last weekend, there goes my getting out of house work excuse on sundays.. bummer. i have one tree that is still giving 2 gals a day of crystal clear but the others are down to about a 1/2 or less in 24 hrs.. not sure if that is a good rate or not? anyone know?

Sounds like they are running fine as long as its clear. I had a tap that gave me 4 gals yesterday but some were 1/2 gallon. I averaged 1.5 gpt.

Depends whether you have a market to sell commercial grade syrup. If so, go until the trees stop.
