I have a homemade stainless pan that I am having trouble getting all the sand off the bottom. My pan is not polished stainless. I have put water back in it and fired it for a bit and that seems to help but not new looking again. Is there anything I can use to get it all the way to bare metal. I have chewed up some chor boys without any luck.

let it soak with water overnight inside so it dosent freeze, then scrub it in the morning. its always worked for me to get sugar off.

Vinegar and water about half and half. Let it soak for 15/20 minutes. The sand will almost wipe off. After I empty the vinegar/water I use baking soda and water to neutralize the acid in the pan left over from the vinegar. Slosh the baking soda water around in the pan, empty the pan and rinse with clean water. It should shine like new.
