Hello Everyone. This is my first year making maple syrup. Don't have an evaporator yet, so I have been using a 30 gallon copper kettle. I have made 4 boils averaging about 20 gallons sap each. Today I finally bottled 1 gallon finished syrup (for my own use) and 1 pint (to give to family).
I've posted a youtube of my setup at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D_9Uz1q2cEo&feature=youtu.be
Well thats all for now. Nice to find this group. Thanks Bret

Nice set up Bret, bet it makes some good full flavored syrup! My dad started out on copper kettles, 50 years ago, one of the kettles sits in our sugar house today. While I never used it, I'm thankful to have it around, I might not be on my 27th year of making syrup if it hadn't been for that kettle!
