tapping in abington township

We tapped on February 21st and continued on and off through warmups untill the 6th. waiting now for the weather to warm up again...is anyone else seeing buds on the sugar maples!?!?

Just broke off one of the buds yesterday and they are a dry green color inside. I believe they were green from the last stretch of 60 degree weather.

Won't take much more for these to swell up again. No frost in the ground to speak of. Most of the red and silver maple buds have almost popped.

With the days getting longer, it won't take much warm weather to end the season.
