Thanks I noticed the belt looked like it was slipping also the pulley was loose so now it's up to like twelve just 8 more to go and that's all she will pull thanks.

Off topic but can you "dead head" that pump?

Do you have to regulate the vacuum level to 20" to keep from hurting the pump?

I don't have to regulate the vacuum level on my 1023 or 0823. They can just sit their at max vacuum without harm to the pump. If possible I'd like to mount a 1550 head on my spare 1023's electric motor.

Spray a bunch of pb blaster in the oil feeder holes or whatever holes you can open up. These old pumps are built well and it should start moving again no problem. Worst case it's just bearings.

It still moves just doesn't make any vacuum.

Check your veins to make sure they are all working properly. I have all kinds of Gast veins and bearings if interested most are brand new.
